The European Union (EU), in an effort to protect human health and reduce environmental pollution has approved EU Directive RoHS 2002/95/EC to restrict the use of:
| * Lead | * Mercury |
| * Cadmium | * Hexavalent Chromium |
| * Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) | * Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE) |
Furthermore, the Directive states that member countries of the European Union Council shall insure that new equipment sold after July 1, 2006, is complaint with RoHS.
RAF Electronic Hardware would like to state that as of July 1, 2006, all of our raw materials, steel, stainless, brass, aluminum, nylon, teflon and phenolic are all in compliance with the Directive.
Also, all of our plating codes are RoHS compliant with the following exceptions:
| * -1 (Cadmium Commercial) | * -9 (Alodine 1200) |
| * -2 (Cadmium Clear Chromate) | * -15 (Hot Tin Dip) |
| * -3 (Cadmium Yellow Chromate) | * -27 (Electro Tin Solder 60/40) |
| * -6 (Gold Iridite) |
