Precision Shoulder Screws from RAFShoulder screws also referred to as shoulder bolts, or stripper bolts, are used as a precision spacer and bearing surface for a wide variety of applications. Shoulder screws are uniquely identifiable by their long, cylindrical, midsection (shoulder), which is wider than the screw section, but narrower than the head. When screwed into a surface, the shoulder section remains above the hole allowing for the rotation of attached parts like pulleys, gears, mechanical assemblies and rolling wheels. They can also be used to attach stripper plates, which enables high torque fastening in environments with limited clearance.

Shoulder Screw Tolerances

Our shoulder screws are manufactured with exacting tolerances (shoulder diameter: +.000/-.001; shoulder length: +.002/-.000). Undercuts on each side of the shoulder assure perfect seating for precise low friction assembly.

Specifications

We offer a variety of finishes in both American and Metric dimensions. Threads range from 4-40 to 3/8-16 with shoulder lengths from 0.1250″ to 1.500″ and shoulder diameters from 0.1245″ to 0.4995″. Head diameters range from 1/4″ to 5/8″. Custom lengths are available.
